property Desktop.aedt_version: str#

AEDT version queried directly from the running AEDT instance.

This property calls GetVersion() to retrieve the full version string directly from the AEDT interface, including the service pack number.

Note

  • aedt_version: Queries AEDT directly via oDesktop.GetVersion(). Returns the full version including service pack ("2026.1.0"). Requires an active AEDT connection.

  • aedt_version_id: Returns the cached major version string set during initialization ("2025.2"). Does not include service pack. Does not require a call to AEDT.

Returns:
str

Full AEDT version string including service pack.
